iSeaMC is a Swedish marine technology company developing patent-pending robotic solutions for the large-scale restoration of marine ecosystems.
Our Precision Marine Restoration (PMR) platform is designed to make marine habitat restoration faster, more efficient and scalable.
The first application focuses on automated seagrass planting (Zostera marina), with a development target of planting one hectare within two days under Scandinavian conditions.
Future applications include Mediterranean seagrass (Posidonia oceanica), gorgonians, corals, sponges and other benthic organisms.
In the longer term, we will extend the PMR platform to deep-sea ecosystem restoration, targeting operational depths of up to 6,000 metres.
The technology is currently under development. Performance targets and future applications require technical and biological validation.
The EU Nature Restoration Regulation requires restoration measures to be in place on at least 20% of the EU's land and sea areas by 2030, with further restoration targets extending to 2050.
Meeting these objectives will require innovative, scalable and cost-effective restoration technologies.
Port authorities, government agencies and commercial restoration companies are important potential users of such solutions.
iSeaMC is developing PMR to address this emerging demand for automated marine ecosystem restoration.
iSeaMC builds on decades of university- and SME-based research, engineering and technology development in marine sciences and underwater robotics.
Our team combines extensive experience in:
The PMR concept has emerged from this long-standing scientific and technological expertise, including research activities within several EU-funded programmes, most recently the REDRESS project.
We welcome enquiries from port authorities, government agencies, marine restoration companies and technology partners interested in future applications of PMR.
iSeaMC is a recently established company currently advancing its PMR technology towards field validation and commercial applications.
Further information about our technology, team and development activities will be available soon.
